De/liberate Feminism | Session 1 begins!

Last night there was an inauguration -- Session One of Investigation Now welcomed ten amazing girls into the 2017 program.

To kick off the new chapter with gumption, we huddled together and began a discussion on what feminism means to each of us in our own lives. The Women's March on Washington influenced our chat, artists such as Judith Godwin and Barbara Kruger inspired our reflection process, and a ceramic project set the limitations for our first de/liberate art making exploration.

The students' ceramic sculptures will be a personal representation of what equality, unity, and justice means to them. Their messages will be deliberate, and their intentions will be liberatory.

To our 2017 IN ladies: You are amazing, inspiring, and strong! Thank you for spending time with us and sprinkling your moxie all over the room. You inspire us and we appreciate you.

To our 2017 IN parents: Your girls are a direct reflection of you and we couldn't be more impressed. Thank you for allowing us to spend time with your kids. We are so grateful!
