It's a WRAP.

Angela. Davis.

When we heard that the Angela Davis would be gracing the VCU campus, we knew the opportunity was a once-in-a-lifetime chance for the girls. After a bit of email bargaining, we managed to get our hands on twelve tickets.

Davis spoke on feminism, human rights, and the Black Lives Matter movement; she reminded us all of the importance to exemplify unity, strength, resilience, and a little sass every now and then. Since the girls spent the previous four weeks investigating what feminism means to them, Davis' speech was an exceptional way to wrap up our activities.

After the speech, we walked back to the work space where we ate our last slices of pizza together and reflected on our past and our present interpretations of the feminist movement. We mapped our explorations, visualized our ideas, listened to Prince and enjoyed each other's company (and dance moves...go Gigi!).

Girls, we miss you already. Thank you so much for bringing your fierce wit and moxie to the studio every Friday night. You inspire us and we are so grateful for you.

Parents, thank you immensely for trusting us with your girls. They are a direct reflection of your warmth and we are equally grateful for you. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for everything that you do.
